Album Review

The original lineup of Mercyful Fate reunited to record Into the Unknown but instead of capturing the spark of their early records, the band just seemed tired. They worked the same territory that made them famous and perhaps that was part of the problem — they have done music as heavy and tortured as this in the past, only better. By and large, Into the Unknown is an effective argument for bands not reuniting.

Woo.

Yay for Black Metal.

Dont understand...

Don't understand what the person who wrote the review was saying, but this is great album. Maybe not the best MF album, but it is really good....not a reason for bands to not reunite. The reviewer doesn't know what they are talking about. Uninvited Guest is a great song.

a good and solid effort

I was never a big fan of Mercyful Fate but this album opened the door to the band which eventually led me to take more interest in this Danish black Metal band. It is a pretty good effort and has interesting themes and songs, backed by powerful vocals, great guitar riffs and solid drum pounding with constant change of tempo to keep you guessing.
