Modern worship leader Chris McClarney made a quick contribution to the contemporary Christian canon without the benefit of a marketing budget. Worship anthem "Your Love Never Fails," the first track on his debut EP, was quickly popularized by the Jesus Culture movement as its theme song, bringing it to the masses and spawning a Top Ten iTunes hit. McClarney's homegrown blues-rock goes down as smoothly as iced tea on a summer day. Take for instance his unassuming treatment of "Blessed Assurance" and the moving title track, which casts a believer's relationship with God in a new light. At six tracks, this was only meant to whet the appetite before the release of his full-length Kingsway debut seven months later in August 2010. For a newcomer, there are few if any missteps as this intriguing young voice carves out his own niche with relative ease.
