Off to a good start
It's an impressive debut from the young Lee featuring the pieces youd expect to hear. She aims at taking on a big program including the Erlkonig, a daunting task at any age. The album is meant to do nothing more than show of her considerable technique and excels in doing this. Telarc has a knack for finding talent as evidenced by their finding and debuting James Ehnes. If she can keep delivering at this level I look forward to any future releases by her,
Fantastic Album
Shannon Lee's album is absolutely stunning. Every piece is played not only with perfect intonation and technical ability, but with passion. Bravo!
Chang but in a softer tone
Some pieces like flight of the Bumble Bees show great technique although they dont really suit my classical music taste. Although I adore Sarah Chang I find that pieces such as Vitali's Chaconne in G minor having a harder tone than Lee's. I cant wait to see what else Miss Lee has in store for us!
