Best yet!

This is the Riverdales best album yet and here's why ↓ When the band first formed, they were billed as a "Ramones clone/golden oldies" band, yet the first album didn't sound like the Ramones.. Ben's songs sounded like SW minus Jughead and, however, Vapid's songs did have an oldies feel. (Though personally, up until now the s/t was my fav. album). In Storm the Streets, the band got a handle on the Ramones' sound. The record sounds like a copy-Ramones band. The latter half feels uninspired, though and the band "broke up" because they "ran out of material." Then comes Phase Three. No comment. Then Phase Three reissue. This album isn't a Ramones-clone, it freaking CHANNELS the Ramones. Ben and Vapid sound just like Joey. The writing, especially OUT FOR MYSELF, sounds like it was written by Dee Dee. So after the band has mastered the RAMONES sound, I was a bit surprised by INVASION USA. It almost harkens back to their first album. Vapid is Vapid, but Ben uses a voice previously unseen in previous recordings. It reminds of me Joey circa Brain Drain. Whereas some of the tracks of the last two albums sounded rather uninpired, this record is seething with inspiration. All the tunes are fun, especially Gemini Man, Heart Out of Season, Rocketship, Time of the Apes, Crawling Eye and Werewolf One. In this album, the Riverdales take their Ramones influence and have that golden oldies sound. Took 15 years, but it sure paid off. In response to the album being "too clean," this is the best recording quality of a Riverdales album yet. Good.

Weasel + Vapid = Long Overdue

Great stuff here, but I suppose that's to be expected. King Dinosaur and Rocketship X-M are the tracks that will have legs for as long as people listen to punk rock. Gotta add this to your Riverdales collection!!!
