Involvement by John Klemmer
This was the first Klemmer record album I purchased and I still own it today. John is pretty young in this session but shows amazing fluidity in his machine gun like runs. John's sound is amazing especially for the 60's time period. I only purchased one other album of Klemmers but I can't remember the name of the album. I thing it was My Love Has Butterfly Wings. At least that was one of the cuts. John used the echo plex through out this recording session and it really shows off his ability to move rapidly up and down the horn. I have two additional CD's of Klemmers but none I relish as much as Involvement, my first introduction to the Klemmer genius.
Get Involved!
I first heard John Klemmer in 1980 when I was stationed in England. His sound was ahead of it's time back then. The Involvement album is incredible. What a sound. I highly recommend it to any fan of John Klemmer and of Jazz. Well done iTunes!
