Isolated gets "Two Thumbs Up!"

Austin Eckel's new album Isolated shows his growth not only as a artist but as an person. Eckel strayed away from his pop-like "Let's Do It Again" song to a more serious tone. The third person perspective in "Isolated" is about the struggles that one faces when they feel down and out. The song concludes with the idea that no one is ever truly alone, they just need to find where they belong. "Flying Solo" is a great complement to "Isolated" because it shows yet again another aspect of troubled times. However, what makes it unique is where Isolated leaves off, Flying Solo comes right in. Finding that place to fit in is a lonesome journey at times and it is reassuring knowing that there is one special person willing to help no matter the distance. Whose to say that along this journey that there aren't going to be any problems? "Broken" is a good transition from the "Preface" which helps set the beginning mood of the album. After that comes "Crystal Clear" which will be the listeners first experience with some up tempo rhythmic piano playing. Austin's solo's are impressive to say the least and it is the first time we hear Violinist Adam Harlow who also plays again in the "Crystal Clear Acoustic". This first person perspective sticks to the Isolated theme, but shows a different unexpected side. Sometimes when going forward you have to take a step back, and that can leave you isolated until you find your traction. "Forgiven" perfectly describes this journey. The song is relayed as a double sided song because it can be in either partner's perspective; asking for forgiveness or being asked for it. Finally the bonus track "Terminal" is an album only song to only which you can hear if you purchase the whole album. Overall I give this album Two Thumbs Up. Good things happening here.
