Incredible Artist
I just saw Blake Mills live along with Cass McCombs (one of my favorite bands) and Mike Bones. Out of the three, it turns out that Mills is the least famous and doesn't have an album out yet, which is a shame because, in my opinion, he is close to McCombs in greatness. This song has great lyrics and a pretty good beat to it, however, I did hear some amazing stuff last night, and I hope more people recognize Blake and it would be awesome if he could get an album. Hopefully one is already in the works.
Worth the wait!
I saw Blake Mills perform with Band of Horses last year in Seattle and I was blown away by his guitar work. I'd heard he was releasing a solo record but I didn't expect it to be this powerful. The melody behind It'll All Work Out is beautiful and his lyric's, though incredible, seem effortless. Like a cross between Elliott Smith and early Pavement. Excellent!
A Closet Straight!
If you are a fan of Elliott Smith like I am, you'll love Blake MIlls. Saw him play a few weeks back and I was blown away. Can't wait to download the entire record when its released this summer.
