iTunes Review
“Hey!” Joey Ramone yells. “We’re the Ramones. This one’s called ‘Rockaway Beach’!” New York’s phenomenal pop combo presented It’s Alive as the ultimate answer to the ’70s craze for double-live LPs. Recorded on New Year’s Eve 1977 before an adoring London crowd, it finds the punk godfathers offering 28 classics from their first three albums in less than 54 minutes. Often even fleeter than the studio renditions, these are an apotheosis of American rock and roll, equal to the Beach Boys’ great singles or maybe even those of Chuck Berry. Despite the double edges of many of their lyrics — the comic Cold War playlet of “Havana Affair,” the anti-“Desiderata” plea for sanity of “Gimme Gimme Shock Treatment” — the Ramones’ major aural message was instruction for a return to fun. It continues to ring on this unstoppable set.

Ramones We Miss You
I saw this band live about 10 times in the 80s. There's not a band on the planet that could ever touch them for pure energy and speed. They were damn funny as well, and never saw themselves to be rock stars. What a blast I had at those shows. This album captures the feel. Long live The Ramones. You youngsters don't know what you missed seeing these guys rippin it up LIVE.
AMAZING
There are only a handful of great live albums. I mean, face it, you're in a music store, and you see an album. "This one has cool box art, and it's *insert band here*, so i'll buy it". Then, you go to your car to pop in the cd to the sterio, when, to your horror, you look on the box: "Oh, CRAP!! It's a live album! And I already took off the wrapping, so I can't return it! CRAP!", but then you decide to listen. "Maybe it sounds good, anyway." And it IS GOOD! This situation sound firmilar? If the "Instert Name Here" is the Ramones, and you bought this album, this probably was your exact situation. This album is so very close to actual recordings, the only way it's possible to tell the difference is the cheering of the crowd. The Ramones aren't big on changing the album version, and that's good. This way, any Ramones CD is buyable.
WOW!!
This amazed me. One of the greatest Live albums ever.speechless
