Underrated

While this album is not one of the Who's best, it is still a good album when taken out of context of the Who. A bad album for a one of the best bands of all time is still a pretty good album on the whole. Being a Who fan, I like a lot of songs on this album. Other than Athena and Eminence Front, there are many decent tracks on here, including It's Your Turn, Dangerous, Why Did I Fall For That, and the Who's most underrated song of all time "I've Known No War." Pete Townshend himself even stated that that song epitomised the Who.

It's Hard helped me through Hard times...

This album (along with Face Dances that I may slightly prefer....slightly) got me through some tough times after I graduated from High School in '82. I was confused, disillusioned, weren't we all...? songs like "cry if you want" "Athena"...I could practically relate to them personally...as if they were written for me...."Eminence Front" still is one of my favorite tracks....this album is phenomenal. I don't like to hear criticisms of Kenny Jones either...he's a fantastic drummer...!!!

Its Hard (Great Rock N Roll)

This album is better than most bands put out in a lifetime of music. No, it is not "Who's Next". It is The Who in the 80's....The band sounds brilliant, tight, and great song writing. I was 10 yrs old when this album was released and I played the record till it melted on my turn table. "It's Your Turn" is a Who classic......"Dangerous" is an Entwistle gem. "Athena" rocks, "Eminence Front" is a groove classic,"Why Did I Fall for That" another lost gem. Buy this album.....The Who is the greatest rock and roll band in the world and this album is end of the road, end of Townshend for a while, end of Warner Brothers, and is in the end classic!

Biography

Years Active: '60s, '70s, '80s, '90s, '00s

Few bands in the history of rock & roll were riddled with as many contradictions as the Who. All four members had wildly different personalities, as their notoriously intense live performances demonstrated. The group was a whirlwind of activity, as the wild Keith Moon fell over his drum kit and Pete Townshend leaped into the air with his guitar, spinning his right hand in exaggerated windmills. Vocalist Roger Daltrey strutted across the stage with a thuggish menace, as bassist John Entwistle...
