Yay!
Yay!! I've been wanting From This Valley, Oh Henry, and Disarm. Lovely.
Keep it comin'
The bad news about this live recording: It sounds like it was recorded with a phone or computer microphone. The good news: It's not unbearable, and the songs more than make up for it. I've been a fan of "From This Valley" for awhile, so I'm glad there's finally a recording (albeit a live one) of it. "Oh Henry" reminds me of "From This Valley" some—mainly the part about it being a good, catchy song. And their cover of "Disarm" by Smashing Pumpkins is haunting and heartbreaking. You've almost certainly heard at least a few of these songs already, what with The Civil Wars kind of blowing up with popularity as of late. And their studio recordings are certainly nothing to shake a finger at—but I think they are truly at their best live, which you find here. Get it.
Just as good as studio
If you enjoyed the studio album or a live show by them, this is a definite must have. Great quality for a live show!
