Great album, but noticeable recording problems

This is another great iTunes Originals selection. The performances of the new versions of the songs are flawless, which as a fan of BNL I've come to expect. However, there are definitely sound flaws in these recordings, specifically if you preview "Celebrity", you can hear static audio clicks during the first chorus. These static clicks are also very noticeable in "War On Drugs" and "It's All Been Done." I hope Apple is aware of this problem and fixes it in the future and would offer replacement tracks with clean audio.

Some New, Some Old...

There is some meat in this album for true BNL fans, but most can be passed (with exception, see below). There are some audible technical problems with a couple of the songs as noted by other reviews. This is sad, but can be overlooked. The interviews between Steve & Ed are interesting and mildly amusing at points, but not terribly so (remove them from your shuffle). Crazy & $1M (both from Gordon), Am I the Only One (from Maybe you Should Drive), and Brian Wilson (Live) (Rock Spectacle) are identical to their original album counterparts. The "iTune Originals" Pinch Me, War on Drugs, and In the Dark (which I wonder if this is a typeo that should be entitled In the Drink) are nice, but only slightly different from their original releases. The best iTune treats are Yoko Ono, One Week, and For You. Yoko is more acoustic in sound, and breaks down in the middle with an human beat-box. The latter two are Studio recordings of the country/folk-envibed "Live Au Naturale Tour Denver 08/02/04" versions. These three are my personal favs on this album. Finally, I Can I Will I Do does not appear on any of their CDs and seems to be a New Release. In short, if you're looking for something new, buy only these four tracks. The rest of the album is only for Die Hard Ladies.

ARE YOU SERIOUS?

Apple can create and sell you software (Soundtrack Pro) to take the pops and clicks out, but can't even clean up their own music that you PAY for?!?!? Gimme a break. If I were BNL, I'd be pissed. If I'd have paid for this, I'd be pissed, too...

By combining humor with an eclectic mix of folk and pop/rock, the Barenaked Ladies enjoyed considerable popularity in their native Canada before rising to international status with 1998's "One Week."
