Essential for Blind Pilot fans
If you've ever been to a Blind Pilot concert, you know that they are amazing live, especially in smaller, intimate settings. While listening to this EP, it's easy to just close your eyes and envision them playing right there in front of you. Each instrument is easy to pick out, especially stuff that you don't really hear (or at least not as pronounced) in their 3 Rounds in a Sound album (ie. the trumpet, ukelele, banjo). Harmonies sound even more amazing and natural than in the studio recordings. I have to admit that I'm slightly disappointed that "Go On, Say It" was not included, but I'm thankful that my favorite ("The Story I Heard") is on there, along with two more of their best songs. This EP really showcases the band's raw talent and is a no-brainer for any Blind Pilot fan, especially with the two new tracks.
A must have!
I am loooving this session! These recordings definitely capture the energy and musicianship that they display at their live shows. And I was so excited when I saw that their cover of Look at Miss Ohio was going to be on it. That song is fantastic! My only complaint is that We Are the Tide isn't on this. Why??! I am dying for some sort of recording of that song.
Let me just say,
I love blind pilot. Their melodies are unforgettable and their lyrics solid. Plus I believe they're from Portland. Whoop whoop. Can't help but buy the live songs even though I already own the regular recordings. Hope to see them in concert again soon
