What happened to MATSOD?

Maylene should just straight up change their name. Back when He is Legend or The Showdown changed styles I was okay with it, because they shifted styles often and each album was an interesting change.

This is simply not Maylene and the Sons of Disaster. I'm sure they will claim that they 'matured' on this album...bovine feces. They cheapened everything: made the vocals clean, the riffs easier, the melodies less southern, and cleaned the rebel grit out completely. I may as well listen to Three Days Grace now, although even that may be more engaging. The majority of this album is just mind-numbingly boring.

There is no excuse for this. I doubt they will make much more money, the music is far less interesting, far fewer people will go to their shows, and this can't be a 'whiz bang final album'.

Whoever is reading this: if you want to hear Maylene, you need only purchase:

'In Dead We Dream'
'Never Enough'
'Cats Walk'

along with the entirety of their past releases, which are all fantastic.

It's a sad day in music...R.I.P Maylene and the Sons of Disaster :'(

This aint maylene...

So generic, way too soft, hope they pull a full 180 on the next one because this is not what is wanted when i listen to maylene...

Although they share Underoath's hardcore roots, there's an old-school vibe to Maylene and the Sons of Disaster's sound that suggests the generation of 1970s boogie...
