Same Chilly
They have been telling him to STFU just compose it and play it for a long time. His answer has always been F "them".
Disappointment
I am so hooked on the intros to all of the songs, and then they are ruined by some sort of awkward disco intrusion, or with mismatched vocals that just kill the vibe. I'm no expert music reviewer, but there was so much potential for this album, and his apparent attempts at throwing in unexpected (read: unwelcome) twists about a minute into each song puts this album at 2 stars for me. Shame.
Talent.
As a fan of his previous releases and having seen him live I can honestly say this album is pretty fantastic. A very talented original wordsmith meets a talented pianist meets disco instrumentation. With an outcome that will turn off people unaware of this man but if you are familiar with CG I bet you were so excited for new material that you bought it before you read any review.
