Amazing!
Josh Garrels' second album far exceeded my expectations. Josh has a truly unique blend of hip-hop, folk, and several other genres. Jacaranda is a very peaceful album, featuring several instrumental tracks, soothing melodies, and beautiful instrumentation.
This man's music will inspire you.
The intimacy of 'Jacaranda Tree,' the joy and festivity of 'Zion & Babylon,' the frailty of 'Words Remain.' No other spiritual artist these days can match the passion that Josh Garrels exudes, and collection of songs will truly inspire you. The instrumentation is earthy and affective (see 'Centipede') and Garrels' falsetto will conjure up emotions that you've never felt before. After stumbling upon his album "Underquiet" three years ago, I'm still convinced that it was my greatest discovery. That album and 2006's "Over Oceans" are both highly recommended and can be purchased from his website, joshgarrels.com. The entire piece is worth the price, but my favorites are: Seasons of Rain, Zion & Babylon, Words Remain, Jacaranda Tree (as an Indiana native, this song means a great deal to me), and Desert Father.
