Red Molly Magic

James continues the Red Molly magic heard on their previous releases. If you love beautiful, tight, soaring and gentle, transcendent harmonies, you will strike gold with this purchase. The sum is greater than the parts and the parts are remarkable in their own right. Each member of the group is a great instrumentalist and individual vocalist; when they blend the strings and the "cords" together just sit back, close your eyes and let the wave wash over you. If you have the chance to see them live, grab it.

Red Molly- James

Red Molly - "James" I always tell people that when you die and go to that Big Acoustic Coffeehouse in the Ske (Heaven) that all the Angels will sound like Emmylou Harris after "James" I will now add that the opener will sound like Red Molly. Since the forming in 2004 Red Molly has perfected Folk, Bluegrass, Country and Jazz and now they added another style Western Swing covering Bob Wills "The End of the Line" It gotten to the point if you walked into a record store and asked the salesperson "Excuse Me can you tell me what section I can find Red Molly?" Is going to get you a mean look and a "What are you a Wise Guy?" Self produced with 13 cuts keeping in there familiar pattern of pulling songs from other songwriters such as Johathan Byrd, Nanci Griffith, the late Steve Goodman including friend Anthony da Costa's "The Last Call" the opening track among other songwriters and making these songs there own. There are 2 songs written by Abbie Gardner "Troubled Mind and Jezebel". Speaking of Ms. Gardner Abbie's Dad Herb sits in on the session playing piano. Awesome collection I highly recommend. In closing I would like to offer a sugestion to all aspring songwriters out there if you have a song that you think deserves attention you might want to get it into the hands of Laurie, Abbie or Carolann because if they like it you know iot has possiblities and may be included in a future Red Molly project. Gos out and Purchase James You will Love it.
