Awesome cover to cover. I have no idea where this guy has been hiding but he is a brilliant melody writer and lyricist. He takes ideas that often come of a trite or platitudes and makes them flow like the finest poetic stanzas. Can't get Absent from Flesh outa' my head!!!!
Fantastic Music - Very well thought out
Barnes is an amazing artist. His imagining of these songs - as well as the execution - is top notch. The addition of horns on Absent from Flesh and A City No Longer Forsaken was refreshing. His soft voice and gentle phrasing let the power of the words he is singing seep into your brain a little easier. The lyrics are so powerful. The delivery of those lyrics is deft. I would recommend this EP to anyone - Christian or not - who appreciates great music well done. Excellent job. I would compare this album to a difficult, touch-driven billiards shot executed perfectly.

I am honored to be able to witness first hand the talents that God has bestowed upon Jamie Barnes as he is the Worship Director at my church. This album is beautiful, God honoring music. Loving "A City No Longer Forsaken" and "Absent From Flesh". Hopefully soon our body at church will be singing these tunes together.
