Fresh and insightful
I cannot recommend this album enough! Janus has taken the traditional flue/viola/harp trio, mastered it and forged a new realm of endless possibilities for the instrumentation. A must have for your music collection!
Janus new album is wonderful!!
Wonderful album. i was highly anticipating the release of this album, and it did not disappoint. If your looking for a new spin on Classical music, this is defiantly the album to get!
Good Start, but didn’t live up to it’s potential
The instrumentation of this group attracted me to the album. I only heard the first two pieces during the first time I listened, and I really liked the opening avant-guarde/speaking introduction in “I am Not” and was fulfilled in my expectation of beautiful ensemble, modern music with “Kaymaster”. Unfortunately, the rest of the album dwelled on the Avant-Guarde aspect, and became so disjointed and discordant by the end that I was no longer enjoying it. I think this group has a lot of potential, but needs to focus on real musicality, which can certainly be achieved even while maintaining a modern viewpoint.
