Jason is raw talent
Jason Kanakis has been touring with so many talented artists for the past several years such as Cary Brothers, Joshua Radin, and Rachael Yamagata. He would always play guitar on the sidelines. However this much due album proves that Jason is just as talented if not more to hold his own against todays big singer/songwriters. This album is genuinely chill and relaxing, and leaves you wishing it was more than just a 6 song EP. The track "Anything" featuring Laura Jansen is just hauntingly beautiful! Can't wait for more!

I've known and toured with Jason for years- have shared the stage with him countless times and am blown away by his playing and the songs on this record... there's a quiet magic in it- like an empty playground, or a fugitive balloon in the sky. NIce work Kanakis...and Brad too!
Guitarist shows his own stuff
After playing sideman to countless acts like Cary Brothers, Josh Radin, and Angel Taylor-- and being musical director of all the Hotel Cafe Tours, Jason Kanakis offers us some of his own material.
With producer/multi instrumentalist Brad Gordon, he's combined his varied arsenal of acoustic and electric guitar expertise with the talents of singers Laura Jansen (vocals on "Anything"), Mai Bloomfield of Raining Jane (Cello and vocals on "Breathe", "Break My Heart"), and Justine Kragen of Vermouth (harmonies on "Feet on the Ground").He's assembled an all star band with his extensive network of musical friends to create a cinematic lush collection of tunes that reach beyond the typical range of the genre.
Be sure to check out the two instrumental offerings-- "Coalition of the Unwilling" is an early 70's style celtic/folk guitar jam featuring New York's Jon Flaugher on double bass, David Immergluck (Counting Crows) on mandola, and Brad Gordon on accordion.
And "Renny and Erica" is a lyrical guitar ballad beautifully augmented by the cello work of Oli Krauss.
