With a promising eponymous debut album, Jamey Jasta successfully splits the difference between his two main projects, Hatebreed and Kingdom of Sorrow. The ferocious frontman’s first solo album detonates with “Walk That Path Alone,” a well-oiled machine of locomotive hardcore thrash that recalls Hatebreed’s less melodic moments. Taking cues from Kingdom Of Sorrow’s signature sludge, “Mourn the Illusion” is all kinds of dark. It’s built on a hefty foundation of relentlessly pummeling rhythms and dense guitar distortion over which Jasta’s howls latch onto some more accessible melody. An impressive lineup of guests appear throughout Jasta, most notably some guitar work that’s unmistakably Zakk Wylde’s on the hard driving rocker “The Fearless Must Endure.” Phil Labonte from All That Remains also contributes some call-and-response vocals to the sublimely catchy “Something You Should Know.” Randy Blythe from Lamb of God lends his larynx on “Enslaved, Dead Or Depraved,” matching Jasta’s throaty rumble with a deeper demonic sounding growl. Even pro skateboarder turned rockstar Mike Vallely shows up in “Heart of a Warrior.”

There is something you should know!!!
This was a litte side project he claims i have to say this is no longer a little project when it comes out this good this album is experimental and was just for fun he claims but you can put it up right next to the breed, sorrow, and icepick albums all his bands have a different sound and this one the way he throws his voice is unbelievalbe its so melodic and one of his ways on how he shows his diversity and still stick to his hardcore/metal roots is it a totally different sound YES! but the experimentation on it is sic he still no matter what , always keeps feeling in his lyrics and songs and this album reeks of empowerement!!! its F***ING AWESOME i love all his work especially cause im a huge hatebreed fan!! any fan of heavy music will understand the experimentation going on here and still staying heavy this album is sic and you should deffinately by it! THERE IS SOMETHING YOU SHOULD KNOW and that thing is that this album is different but still very awesome sounding buy it now !!!
Jasta is the Swiss Army Knife of metal
Great album. Very versatile. The guest vocals on here take it to the next level. The Randy and Jasta song is relentlessly brutal. You should've bought this yesterday

Truth be told I hadn't followed up much on Jasta and his work but after hearing "The Fearless Must Endure" with Zakk Wylde, it blew my mind. Then when I saw tracks with guests vocalists Phil Labonte (All That Remains), Tim Lambesis (As I Lay Dying), and D. Randall Blythe (Lamb of God), I KNEW I had to have this. It does NOT disappoint. This is a completely solid metal album and every track is remarkable. Kudos to Jamey Jasta for his hard work making one spectacular solo album. This is definitely worth listening to, buy it people. You won't regret it.
