Hot swinging sounds!
Love this singer and the totally hot band. I follow them all over the U.S. They really get the dancers dancing and the party started. Come see them play in NYC, or get them to come to your city, but definitely buy the album.

If you enjoy swing music, this is the album to get. John Dokes' vocals takes old standards and gives them a smooth, mellow and contemporary feel without compromising anything . George Gee's music makes you want to get out on the dance floor. Lots of fun to listen!
John Dokes & George together again, for the first time!
I know I may be a little biased, because I am the bandleader - but I must say that this is most probably the best recording we have done so far in our seven CD history! Newcomer John Dokes adds a totally new dimension to the performance and music director/ trombonist Dave Gibson out does himself with his musical arrangements. Every note swings hard (even the pretty ballads), with tinges of bebop to keep both dancers and listeners on their toes! My favorite track?? It may very well be the vocal duet with guest vocalist Hilary Gardner on "Ornithology!"
