Re-recordings
I will never understand why artists re-record their greatest hits. The only artist that I think was ever able to recapture that "original" magic was Roy Orbison. It is so dissappointing to hear a classic with that very special sound, such as "Pass me By," redone.

The recordings on Mercury were pretty damn close to perfect. I wore two of the LPs out during the 70s and early 80s. This guy had a voice to rival anybody in the business during that time.

His older brother Andres, a big country music fan, bought him a guitar when he was seven, and he was playing and singing by his teens. Rodriguez was captain of his high school football team at 16, but when his father died of cancer, he spiraled out of control, racking up four arrests in two years.
