Ambitious and Dare I say....commercial
This new Girlyman album shows a lot of growth as they become the group we have all hoped they would become. Their first two albums had a couple of great songs, but this album is first class from beginning to end. I was suprised to find so many songs on this album that I would even go so far as to classify as radio ready. While some songs have tended to be self indulgent and a little stale in the past, this album is full of vibrant melodies and effective hooks. From the funky country sound of "Through to Sunrise" to the heartfelt "Sunday Morning Bird", this album is as varied as we would expect from three talented songwriters with three origional visions. All the styles on this album meld together to produce the Girlyman sound we have come to expect, tight harmonies and soungs you can sing along with. If you love acoustic sounds and tight harmony this is a great album for you. Must have songs include "Through to Sunrise, Joyful sign, Reva Thereafter and Sunday Morning Bird."
More GREAT Music
I sure hope Girlyman can continue to put out albums at this pace: another stunning album where you can sing along and somehow always find a harmony that matches your own voice :) Their ability to weave rich stories in each song continues: brilliantly beautiful.
