iTunes Review

Multi-instrumentalist Erica Quitzow turns up the electro-pop on her 2010 album, Juice Water. From the opening mechanical beats of “Let Out All the Crazy” with its seductive yet psycho Greek chorus and its hovering synths, Quitzow is occupying her own territory where anything goes as long as it's fun and funky. “Cherry Blossom” thumps with a moderate call to the dancefloor, heightened by those vocals that promise a sexual revolution that leaves everyone satisfied. Quitzow’s indie-rock roots (she’s a premier cellist!) don’t stop her from turning up the volume and letting out her inner glitter, whether it be for rock gone wild (“The Cut”), for rock history gone awry (“More Keith Richards”) or for new wave settling into the sandbox for pure fun (“Magic”). “Money Talks” isn’t a materialistic anthem (despite Quitzow’s playful vocals that could be Madonna with a funny bone) but an admission of reality that builds into an excited climax. “Whatever” closes things with Quitzow’s snottiest, brattiest punk snarl. Welcome to the retro-space age where anything happens without warning.

Cool sound

There's something about her voice I'm not in LOVE with, but I still think it's decent music.
