iTunes Originals - R.E.M.
R.E.M. is my favorite band, and I have to say that I really enjoyed this compilation. The interview clips were interesting and not just a rehash of things available elsewhere. Also, for fans that already own all of R.E.M.'s studio albums, there iTunes Originals versions of 7 songs. One is Permanent Vacation, one of R.E.M.'s earliest songs, which was resurrected for their 2003 tour. These Days, Exhuming McCarthy, I Wanted to Be Wrong, The Outsiders, and Boy in the Well are all excellent reworkings of the album versions, and sound much like the live versions of the songs performed during their Around the Sun tour in 2004-2005. There is also a remix of I've Been High that some listeners may prefer to the album version. This is not a "Greatest Hits" album--it's designed to help you get to know the band as the incredible artists they are.
Yes...It Rocks
This is one album I totally recommend...The intimate atmosphere that only an iTunes Originals can do. This album brings out R.E.M in their true form!!!!
Great Introduction to REM
REM has been around and producing excellent music for a while and has a lot of material out there The music changed over the years, this album can give a snapshot of different albums and periods of time. It is awesome to watch a band GROW and change and still love what they do. Awesome intro to R.E.M. - Some of the older stuff was particularly fun if you like what you hear here. I remember something specifically about 'trailers for sale or rent..' and it gets all fuzzy after that.
