iTunes Review

With M!ssundaztood's title track and "Get This Party Started," P!nk announces herself as post-hip-hop-pop's bratty Joan Jett. Soon, though, the album's turned into a female In Utero, as this excellent singer confesses being "a bad, bad girl" ("Dear Diary") and "a hazard to myself" ("Don't Let Me Get Me"), rakes over the coals of a broken family life ("Family Portrait"'s anguished cry of "I don't want to split the holidays") and dysfunctional love affairs ("Just Like a Pill"). This sophomore disc, with its raised artistic stakes and assumption that the mass audience was ready for the raw nerves beneath the polish, indeed brought P!nk greater recognition than the earlier, less convincing Can't Take Me Home. Obviously, a wide swath of a generation identified with both her pain and the bravado she used to push past it.

M!ssudaztood is one of P!nk's best albums. She mixes talent with songs with good lyrics, good beat, and fun to sing along. P!nk displays different moods, from partier in Get The Party Started to a "don't bother me" vibe in 18 Wheeler. This is an amzing collection to your iTines library, and a good buy.
