iTunes Review

On his last studio album, 2002’s Rebirth, Keith Sweat made several failed attempts to keep up with his younger competition by shifting towards more hip-hop-influenced productions. With Just Me he has thankfully returned to doing what he does best. As Sweat stated at that time of the album’s release, “I remember that I have a fan base and I'm very careful to give the people what they expect from me." Celebrating an astonishing 20 years in the R&B game, Sweat’s latest strikes an easy balance between his classic sound and subtle renovations that make it relevant to 2008. “The Floor” reunites Sweat with Teddy Riley, the producer who oversaw his first albums over two decades ago, while “Butterscotch,” “Suga Suga Suga,” and “What’s A Man To Do” are as hot and heavy as Sweat’s definitive 1996 slow jam, “Nobody.” Even as Sweat focuses on his strengths, he’s not afraid to try new things. The potent “Somebody” is his first foray into falsetto singing, while the Keyshia Cole “Love You Better” leaves you wishing these two would team up for an entire album.

PERFECTION ONCE AGAIN (A MUST HAVE ALBUM)

Keith Sweat has outdone himself. The album is terrific from track 1-13. I love every single track. I feel that Keith did this one for his longtime friend, Gerald Levert. Don't sleep on this album. It is definitely one of the HOTTEST R&B albums for 08' Featured artist Keyshia Cole, Akon and we can not forget Athena Cage all represented. A MUST HAVE!

Just Me? Just Like Old Days

First off if you were around in 80's or 90's then you know why you love Keith Sweat, Most who do realize because their fans of him. Those songs are some of the best in the history of R&B. This album is good too but you just can't compare it to his older work so dont' look at it that way, at least this is still worth getting. A few worthy songs also are these: "Butterscotch", "Love You Better" and "Girl of my Dreams". also there are a few more but those 3 are the best here. Didn't know he was putting out an album but glad to see it.

Music 4 Adults

I have seen a few negative reviews of this CD but I can tell most of them are from people with no taste. I guess that if you don't sing about your car, jewelry, or something else childish you can't be appreciated by SOME listeners today. You gotta be a one hit wonder! Make It Do What It Do Keith!
