iTunes Review

Justin Moore’s pastorally romantic life reads like he was carefully bred by Nashville scientists. He was born in Arkansas and raised in between the homes of both grandparents. While one set of grandparents mentored his fishing and hunting knowhow, the others showed him the ropes on ranching cattle. He began singing at the age of two and later in the church choir before bagging some local talent shows while in high school. So of course moving to Music City had to be the next step after graduation. And it was there where Moore met with the good folks at The Valory Music Company (home to Taylor Swift, Jack Ingram, Reba McEntire, etc). His eponymous debut opens by reflecting the grittier trials of his youth on the twangy, autobiographical, roadhouse rocker “How I Got to Be This Way.” The mellower “Small Town USA” is similarly telling of Moore’s upraising, with all the endearing hick-town trappings like, “Gimme a Saturday night/ My baby by my side/ A little Hank Junior and a six-pack of Light.” The prerequisite new-traditional nod to Bocephus surfaces again on “Hank It,” but you don’t need to be a genius to realize that “Back That Thing Up” is Justin Moore’s instant moneymaker.

Real country sound, lyrics and style imagine that

With all the bs boy band wannabe "country" out there its real nice to hear some country like Justins. Hes got great lyrics and actually sounds country singin em. what a concept huh. great work Justin keep it up and I cant wait till the next album. This one will be cranked up in the truck tomorrow guarunteed.

Glad to see a Country Boys Still standin' up for what is right!

Once again country music has found a guy to stand up for what is right! Love the music and the lyrics. There isn't one song that I don't like on his album, but my favorite song has to be "The Only Place That I Call Home" since we had moved away for a while and just have came back home. County life, well, there is nothing like it. City folks, you can have your big city life. I'll keep my country life. I like driving down the road where people are friendly and everybody waves and you know everybody, and you don't have to worry about what school to send your kids. That is why I like Justin Moore, he is country like me and each song he sings about describes my life. Simple and honest. Thanks, Justin for keeping it that way! For those that don't like his music, I have a suggestion, don't listen to it and stay in your area of town, cause we don't need you in ours and we sure don't need you messing with our music either, this is the way we like it!

Finally!!

After waiting for over a year, Justin Moore finally comes out with his 'kick a*s' album. His voice and all the songs are downright amazing. This is a must for all country music lovers!

Biography

Genre: Country

Years Active: '00s, '10s

Justin Moore hit Nashville in 2009 with a ready-made image. He was the good kid from a small town with a rowdy heart of gold who just happened to be able to sing about it. Moore had grown up in tiny Poyen, Arkansas, where he worked on his grandparents' cattle farm and enjoyed an archetypal American rural childhood. He started singing as early as two years old, and at eight he won a talent show at the local high school. He sang gospel songs in church but spent the rest of his time listening to country...
