You're a Mean On, Mr. Grinch
I was most disappointed that Apple’s wonderful iTunes Music Store label of “Karaoke” wasn’t the type of sing-a-long that was available on the early Macs in the form of midi songs with lyrics visible at the exact time that music was playing. What a waste of a perfect way to sell more iTunes. Why not develop a plug-in or even an upgrade to iTunes that shows the words of the songs that are playing? I downloaded the “classic” song You’re a Mean One, Mr. Grinch from the iTunes store because I expected to find the words to the song to play during appropriate times… to bug my wife.. to annoy co-workers during a Xmas slide show… or just to belt out my versions of Jim Carrey’s Classic (capital C) update of Ebenezer Scrooge from the Ron Howard film of Dr. Seuss’s Xmas tale. Alas! No bloody words. Back to the net to download the lyrics from newsongsforchristmas.com or wherever. I’m not a happy camper after spending 99 cents to witness a new perk from my favourite computer company. Good version… super idea… no words.. Happy Christmas, indeed…. Bah Humbug!
