Absolutely Stunning - Exceeds All Expectations

I am so glad Sleeping at Last's newest album finally made it to iTunes. I would be hard pressed to declare a greater album in 2006 than Keep No Score. Fans of 2003's Ghosts will only find more to love. SAL incorporates full orchestral string arrangements on 8 of the 12 tracks, and the lush sound it produces is breathtaking. The production levels are perfect as Ryan O'Neal's ethereal voice is able to find just the right balance with the music. And the lyrics... Wow. The songwriting on this album is even better than Ghosts. The ability of Ryan O'Neal to paint a picture with his words is remarkable. I could go on and on and use many more superlatives, but better to buy this album for yourself. If you have Ghosts, this is an absolute must-have follow-up, and if you've never heard of SAL, this is a great place to start. You can listen to these songs over and over, and keep hearing new things... they're that rich. Highlights include Dreamlife, Quicksand, and Needle & Thread.

Beautiful.

I am in love.

Soaring at Last

I'm loving the dynamic tenor vocals over sweeping strings and melodic bass lines. This is feeling and thinking person's rock music. Lively enough to keep you awake on long drives and yet still romantic enough to put on in the den with your fiance.

Formed: 1999 in Wheaton, IL

Genre: Alternative

Years Active: '90s, '00s

Sleeping at Last hailed from suburban Chicago, where guitarist/vocalist Ryan O'Neal joined with drumming brother Chad O'Neal and bassist pal Dan Perdue to play a tasteful brand of emo inflected with Christian themes. After sparking the interest of Billy Corgan with their self-released full-length,...
