iTunes Review
Reba McEntire's iconic status is renewed on Keep On Loving You, a confident statement from a legendary player still on top of her game. Produced by the stalwart Tony Brown and Mark Bright, the album offers a strong batch of tunes in a contemporary (but not excessively trendy) sonic setting. Reba’s ability to embody both devastating heartbreak and defiant self-liberation is on full display here. “Just When I Thought I’d Stopped Loving You” and “But Why” are country arias in the classic McEntire mode, while “She’s Turning 50 Today” celebrates life’s second chances. She lets loose with her patented sass on “Strange,” “Pink Guitar” and especially “Nothing to Lose” (a full-throttle rockabilly number). The poignant “Eight Crazy Hours (In the Story of Love)” and the dramatic “Maggie Creek Road” are the sort of exquisitely-detailed narratives that Reba has always excelled at, and her Oklahoma-seasoned phrasing and powerhouse delivery show no sign of wear after 30-plus years of recording.
Customer Reviews
For all you haters...
Reba is one of the best female country music artists there ever was...actually scratch that she is the best female country music artist there is! And she is here to stay! She is going to continue to make great music! For everyone who keeps rating this wonderful album with 1 star, you don't even know Reba! Listen to some of her older albums and you will love her! I love this album I think everyone needs to buy it! I also read a comment about someone has only ever seen her on t.v.?? What the heck is that about? Reba has been singing since before you were born probably so don't even talk about how she should stick to acting even though she is an amazing actress! I love everything about Reba and she will continue to make great albums for the world to hear and love!
Keep on Lovin' Reba
First off, I want to say that I don't usually post reviews, but some of the negative ones on here are just so ridiculous, I felt the need to say something. Although Taylor Swift is a talented artist, and I count myself among her fans, she has a long way to go before she can be compared to Reba. Second, Reba has been recording music for over 30 years, and to say her voice is computerized is just hilarious! She made it big in the music industry before they had the technology to digitally enhance a singer's voice, so the fact that her voice sounds the same as it did 30 years ago is a testament to just how truly talented she is. Lastly, if you're not a fan of country music, why are you even taking the time to post a negative review? Reba has sold over 55 million albums worldwide. She is, without a doubt, the Queen of Country Music.
One of the best female country singers
Reba McEntire has such a great voice. I have been waiting for her to do a new album for song long, and now that it is here I can say that this is really good. Strange, Just When I thought I'd Stopped Loving You, Pink Guitar, and Maggie Creek road are my personal favorites on this album. Even if you are not a big fan of country music, just preview the songs, because I am sure that their is a song on this album that everyone can like.
