I have looked for this version of Midnight Rider for a long time. This is the 1st and original version I heard in the mid 70s. IMHO it ROCKS.

GREAT Collection of Hits From Southern Rock's Greatest

by Skynyrdfan

Cannon, just to let you know, Johnny Van Zant had a solo career BEFORE taking helm of Skynyrd, and yes, had a song called "Coming Home." The song is not a "fake" as you state, rather his song "Coming Home" not Skynyrd's. Second, if you knew anything about Greg Allman as well, is that, he also had a solo career, which included his smash hit "I'm No Angel" (which is a masterpiece might I add), but he also did cover "Midnight Rider" which also, might I add, is a song he penned himself. Duane Allman did not write that song. These are songs from the original group, or, from individuals in their solo career. Understand the songs and the background of the artists before you make a review that's completely incorrect.

For those who are not objective or uneducated, I do suggest this cd 100%. They've put a great mix of artist on here. They did miss a few artists such as Molly Hatchet, The Outlaws, Blackfoot, and a few others, but for someone who may not be big into Southern Rock, this is a good dip in the bucket.
