iTunes Review
Through the haze of their stage spectacle and their massive worldwide fame, it is easy to forget what a killer record Kiss’s debut was. Pound-for-pound, it might be the best album they ever made; certainly, their songwriting was never stronger. The album is all meat, no vegetables — a bullpen of back-to-back showstoppers. Built from Keith Richards licks, “Strutter” and “Firehouse” are more fun than anything the Stones were doing in 1974, while “Nothin’ to Lose” and “Let Me Know” are carefree boogies that bring rock ’n’ roll back to the altar of Jerry Lee Lewis and Little Richard. Then there's “Black Diamond” and “Deuce,” songs that can turn any room they’re played in into an arena stage. While Led Zeppelin and Black Sabbath matched them for riffs, those bands could be weighed down by lofty pretensions. Kiss is immortal because it wants nothing more than to give you a great party.

What more can one say....A CLASSIC!!!
If you're new to KISS and trying to find a good place to start your KISS-induction...look no further. KISS's debut self-titled album is one for the ages. A pure rock-n-roll album at its finest. Many songs that would become KISS mainstays are on this one, as well, including..."Strutter," "Deuce," "Firehouse" and "Black Diamond." The song "Let Me Know" is a gem of a jam that ends with the boys doing their best imitation of a barbershop quartet that finishes off with a crunching Ace riff. Good stuff! You can't go wrong with this one...it's a classic!
What started it all!
These songs are true originals; it is the album that is worth $$$.
