Five Stars!
I first heard "In the Music" on the radio and then desperately tried to contact the station to find out who the artist was. I had to wait for 24 hours to get a response and when I finally listened to all the clips in itunes I was so pleasantly surprised! Every song is great and Kongos' unique and mature sound is what caught my ear in the first place. They are coming to Portland soon and I can't wait to hear them live!
BEST NEW ROCK BAND!
KONGOS has masterfully captured a new and distinctive sound. The combination of unique rhythms, unconventional blend of instruments, and skilled musicianship put most other current rock bands to shame… the melodies are pleasing and unlike anything else out there. My personal favorites are: “Nothing” and “Make Your Mark.”
Exceptional
These guys are great! I've heard them live, and they rock! Their music is thoughtful, a refreshingly different sound. No matter what your music taste, you will appreciate the art that Kongos has brought into their music. They have skillfully mastered a sound that is off-beat, yet contemporary. I definitely reccomend downloading the entire album, and if you have the chance to catch them live-do so, before they blow up and tickets are impossible to get!! Enjoy.
