Album Review

Co-composed by Hanz Zimmer and John Powell, both of whom helmed the first installment of the immensely popular Dreamworks animation series, the score for Kung Fu Panda 2 dutifully expands on the motifs that the pair introduced in the inaugural film. Zimmer, who traveled to China in 2007 to absorb the country’s rich musical history, adds more regional flare to the orchestral score this time around, but listeners who enjoyed the initial blend of swashbuckling, martial arts-inspired adventure themes and lush, pastoral interludes won’t come away disappointed, as the two styles are well represented here.

You'll go blind from overexposure to pure awesomeness!

Both movies have been wonderful...seen the new one twice already. And the music is fantastic. Love it.

A Sweeping Epic.

This soundtrack is so well done. It's perfect. The movie is awesome, and the soundtrack is so bloody epic. Sweeping harmonies compiled with driving rhythms for the battle scenes and some very interesting melodies. It's like Inception meets Kung Fu Panda meets a whole new formula. John Powell and Hans Zimmer are fantastic.

Don't go 1 track here and there. Buy the whole thing, you won't be sorry.

Where do I start?!?!

After seeing the movie, I jumped on the computer and found it on the itunes store. I opened it up, looked over the titles, and stared blankly at the screen, thinking "Whoa...Where do I even start?!?!" I decided to start saving up to buy them all, solving my problem of not knowing which one to buy first. This amazing soundtrack is the product of John Powell, writer of the "How to train your Dragon" soundtrack and Hans Zimmer, writer of the "Inception" soundtrack, to create an irresistible mix to fit an exiting, action-packed movie. Well done, incredible!
