Wonderful collection of original instrumental tunes
This wonderful collection of original instrumental tunes is both unique and refreshing. KevOz's melodies capture life in the making - they are light and happy as well as thought provoking, and instill a deep sense of hope and contentment. Lakefront is brought to life with its sunny days, thunderstorms and the peace and calm it offers those who visit. Perfect for meditation or background music. If you don’t know KevOz, try this one!
Kick back and have a blast with the fun grooves and rhythms
KevOz explores everything from warm and dramatic romanticism (a la Yanni, Ciani, and similar artists) on cuts like the opening title track, as well as rolling new age pop ("Sailing Hearts"), trippy sunshine-filled electronica ("Moonlight Drive" and "My Little Angel [The Happy Song]"), haunting EM ("New Cool", an outstanding track), and high energy dance floor techno ("Dreamscape"). In most cases, Osborn displays his distinct strengths while revealing few weaknesses. The man can definitely compose a wickedly catchy hook! You can kick back and have a blast with the fun grooves and rhythms of Lakefront. Recommended.
Well worth checking out
Featuring 11 melodic tracks, based largely around some excellent piano work such as the beautiful title track and the cascading notes on "Sailing Hearts". This sets the basis for some rather beautiful music that benefits from excellent interplay of various sounds that make for some majestic musical tapestries which should appeal to those who enjoy the softer end of electronic music. In fact, Vangelis fans should definitely check out "Distant Eyes" which bears a resemblance to "Chariots Of Fire" (with a touch of "Whiter Shade Of Pale" for good measure!) and "Nightride" where the bassline definitely resembles the Greek maestro. I must admit that seeing the title "My Little Angel (The Happy Song)" brought me out in a cold sweat, visions of ultra-sugary/sickly sweet music coming to mind all too readily. But it's not bad, the upbeat tune & light punchy rhythms sounding like a pleasant instrumental synthpop-like piece while the trance-like rhythms of "Dreamscape" make for another pleasantly up-tempo excursion. Lakefront is well worth checking out if your tastes extend to the softer end of EM such as Jonn Serrie, Peter Seiler & David Wright.
