An inspired mash up.

I would say that the two previous reviewers are right. The song is and is not from Roland Orzabal's solo TFF period. "Last Temptation" is from Tears Roll Down (Laid So Low) which appears on the 82 - 92 Greatest Hit's Collection. It is an expanded version of a "Seeds of Love"-era b-side "Tears Roll Down". By the time this version was released on the "82 - 92" collection, Curt Smith was long gone, and Orzabal has stated that the title "Laid So Low" is a word play on "Laid Solo". Either way, a good mash up that does not sound cheesy like other TFF mash ups/remixes. Strongly recommended

One of the best Tears For Fears remixes...

There are a lot of "mash-ups" and remixes of old Tears For Fears tunes out there...some of them are good, but some are really horrible. This one happens to be one of the good ones. This song uses the vocals from "Laid So Low (Tears Roll Down)" which, incorrectly stated by the first reviewer, is NOT from the solo Roland period. The song is not over "dancey" yet it does have a very nice beat to it. I haven't listened to anything else by X-Mode, so I can't comment on whether or not is fits in with the rest of their repertoire, but I definitely allow this song to be in my Tears For Fears playlist and shuffle right along with the rest of their songs. I wish more remixes were of this calibre, definitely worth the $1.98!

From out of left field

An unexpected and inspired remix of an overlooked Tears for Fears classic from Roland’s solo TFF period. I can't help but dance to this booty-shaker despite the egghead lyrics best saved for examination during periods of self-reflection and exegesis for the poetically-inclinded. Bravo!

Biography

Formed: 1981 in Bath, Somerset, England

Genre: Pop

Years Active: '80s, '90s, '00s, '10s

Tears for Fears were always more ambitious than the average synth pop group. From the beginning, the duo of Roland Orzabal and Curt Smith were tackling big subjects — their very name derived from Arthur Janov's primal scream therapy, and his theories were evident throughout their debut, The Hurting. Driven by catchy, infectious synth pop, The Hurting became a big hit in their native England, setting the stage for international stardom with their second album, 1985's Songs From the Big Chair....
