iTunes Review

Four days into the recording of Daryl Hall’s first solo album in 14 years, his producer and close friend T-Bone Wolk died from a heart attack. The album is dedicated to his memory. In a great tribute to a fallen friend, Hall delivers strong performances that sound as if he’d never left the solo artist chair. His soulful vocals and dignified tastes show throughout the album. The arrangements are sleek without being slick, and the vocals are perfection without losing the human heart. The title track is a poignant pop tune that sounds like a lost hit from the ‘80s. “Eyes for You (Ain’t No Doubt About It)” cruises with a gentle funk and a ‘70s soul feel. “Save Me” features indelible Hammond organ. “Message to Ya” is exactly the kind of spirited groove that made Hall & Oates a hitmaking machine. Hall’s internet TV show Live from Daryl’s House has kept him sharp and in tune with the times; here he sounds ageless on both ballads and rockers.

Best Since "Three Hearts..."

I think the style of this album is closer to "Do It For Love". Every song on this collection is instantly likeable. You'll enjoy it big time.

Fantastic! Diverse & Souful....A Homerun for Daryl Hall

As a huge Daryl Hall admirer, I already knew I was going to like this album, I just didn't know how little or how much. As unbiased as I can be, this latest album is a nothing short of a homerun. It's one of those collections, you want to keep handy to play over and over again regardless what kind of mood you're in. You can definitely pick up some nostalgic influences; Smoky, Temptations, and even a bit of Hall & Oates (No Can Do) in one of the geniusly composed tracks. If I had to select a favorite for those that are only going to try one song first, go with SAVE ME. It's upbeat and amazing. Regardless of your religious or lack there-of preferance, it will tap into an inner-baptist, you may not know you even had. Lots of funky organ and soulful choir back up...'save me from the road i'm going down...'....The lyrics are so catchy, you won't be able to stop singing them at work, or maybe even in your sleep. One can only imagine how cool the live version of this track is going to be! Lots of other fantastic songs as well including the title track, Laughing Down Crying, Talking to Myself, and so many others. But don't take just my word for it. Seriously, stop reading this and buy it for yourself. Probably the best thing for under ten bucks you can get. (And no I'm not a paid advertisement, I just love it that much).

Daryl You Are Still the Singer Of Legend!

Daryl, thank you for the new music. You are my musicial inspiration! I listen to your music everyday! When I need motivation and reassurance your music lifts me up. Thank's for putting out another great cd. "Eyes for You" is the second coming of "I Can't Go For That", that's the new jam man. Thank's for being there for me for 40 years. I love every song. Props to T-bone in heaven.
