Incredibly Unique and Full of Erie Wonder.
I can't say I've ever heard a band that sounds a whole lot like Thrift Store. They put on a great live show, and their music is downright enchanting. I definitely recommend this as well as commend you for even coming across this band. Enjoy your reward...
Perfect west texas sound!
What a great album and band! If you are familiar with Rhett Miller's voice from the Old 97's then you will definitely hear the similarities... but Thrift Store Cowboys go in a completely eerie way all of their own. Admittedly, I’m not usually of huge fan of lead female vocals but I find myself falling in love with every song the beautiful Amanda "Pearl" Shires sings in, and that’s not even mentioning her breathtaking fiddle playing. BUY this album now! you will not be disappointed.

i actually discovered Thrift Store Cowboys because i stumbled upon a song off of Amanda Shires' solo album, "West Cross Timbers", playing on a local radio station and was completely enchanted by the sheer genius of her music (she's got some pretty enthusiastic, big-name fans; Slaid Cleaves and Chris Isaak just to name a couple). Thrift Store reminds me of what would happen if you put the Old 97's and Johnny Cash's backing band in a bar and they started to brawl. and as a cowgirl-at-heart myself, i mean that in the best way possible. a true gem of an album by a truly awesome band!
