Another Completely Brilliant SC3 Album

Don't listen to naysayers. Spruance is in top form AS ALWAYS. Anyone who digs nino rota will have a better idea of where Spruance is coming from on this album. Absolutely brilliant Cd. Meant to be taken as a whole. Secret Chiefs 3 is one of the best bands on earth and this album does not disappoint.

Meh...

This album doesn't do it for me. It's more like a soundtrack for a non-existent movie. Short tracks, 30 in number. I guess I prefer their longer song structured diddies from past albums, which I love. I've always fast forwarded the theatrical segues such as "drunk at the gates". I want effing music, not 30 seconds of Persian scale xylaphone tantrums. If I want something like that I'll get me some fantômas. Anyway, 3 stars for technical prowess and a few catchy tunes that end before they start.

You need a new direction Treye. Like, completely new. I know you'll hate this but take a page from Patton and experiment outside your specialization. We will all benefit from the result and so will you.

HOLY HELLSMATH

I have loved Secret Chiefs 3, Bungle and all the others since I was a horny 12 year old with terrible acne and man t**s 13 years ago. Secret Chiefs has disappointed me on a couple albums. They either blow it out of the f*****g park and it defines an era, or it just doesn't grab me. This album is a blow out of the f*****g park. I haven't instantly enjoyed an album like this in many years. Its like a blow job for the brain. Sit back, relax and enjoy this amazing ride.
