Irish Rock Lives On
I first found about the Dreadnoughts through a Facebook group dedicated to Irish punk rock. I came across the their cheap "Sons of Murphy" music video and instantly knew there was something fun about this band. They're funny, talented, and have an Irish sound that seems like the perfect blend of Flogging Molly and Dropkick Murphys. Bring on more drinking songs!!
Canadian Celtic Punk Rock in all it’s glory…
This Vancouver five-sum are here to make waves! If the Dreadnoughts were a musical cocktail it would be one part dark rum, one part single malt Scotch, one part Canadian whiskey, and a Guinness soaked slap on the back for a chaser. Their maritime heritage is readily apparent with the opening song “Old Maui” and other former sea shanties sparked to life from the dust of time with haunting vocals and stirring melodies. The group’s diverse talent and raw power ring true on each track. I hope to be hearing more from this group in the near future.
