Finally some NEW ILLINOIS
Kid Catastrophe will be a hard album to top, but "Lemonade Stand" still has something unique about it. Im hoping for some more songs like "hang on, and old saloon" from these guys. Best tracks are: Tractor Show, Metropolis, Shoot the Moon
Overall Good Feel
What a suprise release from Illinois. The album has an excellent feel in most of the tracks, a good sound if one is looking to kick back and relax. Tractor Show has almost a backwoods sound to it, much different than the Illinois I saw live at Hamilton College a few years ago. When listening to Artilliery I much expected a better recording of previous versions but the one on the album here is much too overproduced. Overall I am pleased and suprised Illinois!! However I am still dying for a good recording of Bad Day, and Oh Asia!! Capture the intensity of your live performances!
