Qwelly does it again, Dope Meaty Ogre instrumentals.
Orin's right shoulder, Descending Son (poetry over an Ogre instrumental), Dope Offwhyte track, Damn Meaty, damn! Also Mestizo and of course Meaty's beat and sample.
Now this is hip hop.
For those saying hip hop is dead, there is still hope! Meaty Ogre has one of the best damn hip hop records right here, tone of live drums and instrument samples, all laid out to sound like (gasp) music? Then you add in the truckload of talented, motivated, and quality MC's to spice up some tracks and Leo vs. Pices is a winner. Between the quirky vocal sample-laden transition tracks (Pornounciation, Swin or Sleep, and one or two others), the brilliantly constructed instrumentals (that are so good that it's hard to tell if it's samples or actual musicians playing "en studio" sometimes), and the emotional, cleverlyrics of Qwerty, Denizen, Inf Pwr, and the others (backed with yet more killer beats), not buying this album is to deprive yourself of one of the greatest underground hip-hop works in quite a long time.
