Avril at Her Best

Hard to believe this album is already 7 years old. I have to say, though, that it's my favorite album of all time. Each song has its own meaning and it's about real life and growing up. Not just for girls, but guys too. In my opinion, her best album to date because it had 3 major hit singles and its lyrics are great, sometimes "corny," but still simple and beautiful. Much better than The Best Damn Thing. Better than Under My Skin. This is her main album and this is a must have. Losing Grip - 4.5/5 Not the best, but still a great song. It has an angsty feeling and if you like Under My Skin, you'll like this. Complicated - 5/5 While overplayed, this song is still great. It's about complicated parts of a relationship and just stopping yourself to relax. Sk8er Boi - 5/5 One of Avril's biggest hits to date. You might find this song annoying, but I love it. Way better than Girlfriend. I'm With You - 5/5 Avril's best ballad, hands down. Simply beautiful. Mobile - 5/5 I know a lot of people don't like this song, but I love it. My favorite Avril song, it's about things changing so fast in such a short amount of time. Unwanted - 4/5 Another relationship song. This one's a little harder, but I still like it. Tomorrow - 5/5 A slower song about how you can always hope for a better day tomorrow. Yes, it is a little slower, but the song is still great. Anything but Ordinary - 5/5 The beat is amazing! Avril sings about how she'd rather be anything but ordinary. One of the songs that drew me closer to her, this is one of Avril's best! Things I'll Never Say - 5/5 A song dealing with a crush Avril has. An awesome beat with great vocals. Give it a listen. My World - 5/5 The lyrics to this song are hilarious! It's about Avril growing up in a small town. Nobody's Fool - 5/5 Another one of Av's best. This song is about "being yourself and sticking up for it!" Avril does a little bit of rapping, but don't worry. Not too much! Too Much to Ask - 4.5/5 A little slower, but still good. This song is about another relationship in which Avril's friend chooses weed over her. Naked - 5/5 Yes, this is slower too, but another great song. No, it's not about being naked, it's about feeling exposed around a guy. It's a very nice way to end the album. *** The lyrics are way more meaningful than The Best Damn Thing, however the feel is much lighter and happier than Under My Skin... meaning this is a perfect blend of both of Avril's styles. If you like this album, try Under My Skin. Also note that Avril will be coming out with a new album soon. We shall all pray that it isn't like The Best Damn Thing.
