Fun Album
I was working in Portland, Oregon in October 2007 and attended the symphony pops concert where this group was the featured artist to showcase the music performed by the late Ray Charles This recording consists of the same program of that symphony concert, but without the symphony backing. After hearing the live concert, the CD is admittedly a little thinner than what I heard live. Nonetheless, there are some great tracks here with some great vocals, keyboards and brass solos. It is a true big band on the recording. Favorite tracks include Night Time is the Right Time sung by Duffy Bishop -- not the way Ray Charles did it, but very fun. The title track, sung by Patrick Lamb (founder of this group of local musicians) is true to form.
