iTunes Review

An inductee into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame as both a Beatle and a solo artist, the late George’s entire solo career is profiled for the first time on Let It Roll: Songs of George Harrison. The compilation is culled from his six major studio albums, with his Fab Four years represented by a trio of live cuts from his legendary Concert for Bangladesh benefit at Madison Square Garden in 1971. In addition to signature songs such as “My Sweet Lord” and “When We Was Fab,” this collection boasts rarities such as “Cheer Down” (a collaboration with Tom Petty), the Bob Dylan cover "I Don't Want to Do It," and a demo version of “Isn’t It a Pity.” Let It Roll also includes a beautiful 24-page digital booklet.

IN One Word..."WOW"

I love the Beatles and I love George. I recently read "I Me Mine", his autbiography, and my whole perspective changed on him. Before he was just the cute, youngest Beatle who didn't say much and did whatever John and Paul told him. But now I see him as an accomplished writer and musician, and gifted in his own right. This album is proof that George Harrison broke free of the restricting Beatles-bond and developed a whole new persona for himslef!! I LOVE HIM!!!

Underrated

George Harrison is too often overlooked as the shy, quiet Beatle, and people tend to forget just how brilliant he was. Although many of the songs the Beatles produced were written by Lennon/McCartney, Harrison's music can definitely hold its own. This is a great album. Hands Down.

Oh George (:

I recived this album (the CD) for my birthday this year and it's absolutely wonderful. It may not have deep cuts into his career like "Art of Dying" but it certanly has everything else. He's a living testement to an amazing musical movement and generation. The real question is...why HAVEN'T you already bought this album? (:
