Album Review

This seems like an unnecessary collection, considering that All Time Greatest Hits — released on the same label, just five years previously — has all 12 songs on this grandly titled "20th Century Masters" edition, and adds four tracks not on this collection. If it's just the big hits you're looking for, and as a matter of convenience it's easier to acquire this title, it does have the main familiar hits, from "Where Were You When I Needed You" and "Let's Live for Today" to "Temptation Eyes" and "Sooner or Later." Those wishing for more obscure, worthy early cuts like "Mr. Jones (Ballad of a Thin Man)," "Tip of My Tongue," and "Feelings" need to go to Rhino's two-CD Anthology.

The Grass Roots

I was to young to remember the 60's songs of the Grass Roots but definitely remember Sooner or Later, Two Divided By Love, and Glory Bound. However, these are only a couple of a dozen or more great songs by a truely great band. I enjoy all the singles they released and consider them one of my favorite 60's & 70's bands. Have they ever been inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame and if they have not it is a dam shame because they deserve it. (Dimock)

I mostly wrote this review after I read another one that says "no kid you ask today will know the Grass Roots"...and I beg to differ. I've listened to the Grass Roots for years even though none of my teenage friends do, and i love them! I'd actually rather listen to them than the stones any day!

Let's live for today

Clearly one of the theme songs of the 60s let's live for today, because the war is going on & on & on
with so many other great hits on this album . Where were you when I needed you, Bella Linda Temptation Eyes

History does have a way of repeating itself. The war is still going on and on and on why????

The Grass Roots had a series of major hits — most notably "Let's Live for Today," "Midnight Confessions," "Temptation Eyes," and "Two Divided by Love" — that help define the essence of the era's best AM radio. Although the group's members weren't even close to being recognizable, and their...
