Album Review

Mötley Crüe bassist Nikki Sixx certainly has a hankering for vintage AC/DC and Aerosmith sounds, as a pair of bands he signed to his Eleven Seven Music imprint — the Last Vegas and Charm City Devils — sonically reflect the days when High Voltage and Toys in the Attic were fresh in the shops. The latter group's 2009 debut offering, the appropriately titled Let's Rock-N-Roll, is a greasy slab of blues metal — chock full of amped up riffs (courtesy of six-stringsters Vic Karrera and Nick Kay) and whiskey soaked vocals (courtesy of John Allen), especially on such cuts as the title track and "10,000 Miles." Fans of Buckcherry and Airbourne should certainly give Let's Rock-N-Roll a listen, as Charm City Devils fit in comfortably with the early 21st century crop of DC disciples.

Save Rock N Roll

Fan of bands like AC/DC, Guns, Crue, even Jet? These boys from Baltimore (formerly known as Forty Acres) are being backed by Nikki Sixx and may be just what fans of non processed rock need right now.

Charm City Devils Rock

With a grip on the tepid pulse of what rock-n-roll has become these fella's inject the high pressure adrenanline into the veins of my music collection. I can't wait for this record to come out...

Wow... we need more bands like this

In todays world it seems rock has become either "hardcore" metal stuff, "U2"-esque bands like coldplay, or Alternative. We really need some good hard rock... like this. This song is a shot of rock adrenaline... it really sounds similar to AC/DC. Its not hair metal, though the vocals do sound slightly like Motley Crue. But it works. Definatlty worth the 99 cents. I am really looking forward to what this band releases next... they certainly have me sold.
