Album Review

Verve's Let's Sing a Song of Christmas is an excellent collection of Spike Jones' Christmas recordings, featuring no less than 20 tracks, including "All I Want for Christmas (Is My Two Front Teeth)," "Jingle Bells Medley," "Nuttin' for Christmas," "The Angel in the Christmas Play," "Frosty the Snowman," "Christmas Alphabet Medley" and "What Are You Doing New Years." There have been other collections of Jones' holiday tunes, but this one is arguably the best, given its generous selection, great fidelity and liner notes by Richard Carpenter.

Spike Jones christmas album

I grew up with this and the album was lost after my parents died - it was my FAVORITE I am so excited to find it in digital format. Hooray!

It's a Spike Jones Christmas

this album was originally released as "it's a Spike Jones Christmas" - I know because I have an original copy of the LP and also the CD - new album cover, new title - same fantastic album - good clean family fun. Classic Spike Jones silliness with some very respectful and well done arrangements as well. One of the best Christmas albums I own - why don't you have this yet???

Quirky and amazing!! A MUST for any hip holiday party.

Great collection of standards for any holiday occasion. All your favorite holiday tunes recorded in the 50's sound. Check out "Nuttin for Christmas." HILARIOUS!!! My wife and I cracked up laughing...A great value, 12 bucks for 20 songs- you can't go wrong.

In the wild and woolly days before multi-track recording, MTV, and certainly digital entertainment content, Spike Jones put together a top-flight musical organization that the world has not seen the likes of since.
