Customer Reviews
Excellent, but incomplete
Like a review before me, I was disappointed that sigur rós was not on this soundtrack. I spent some time looking for the song of his that was in the movie. So for those of you like me, the song is titled starálfur, from the 1999 album ágætis byrjun. I am not sure if I am allowed to post urls, but this is his official site where the song can be downloaded: http://www.sigur-ros.co.uk/media/ I hope this helps someone and saves some trouble.
Great album
This is a great collection of songs from the movie. The songs are great, fresh and appealing even when you haven't seen the movie yet. The only thing I wished that was on the album was the song that was played close to the end of movie when the entire Team Zissiou was in the submarine Deep Search and the Jaguar Shark appears in front of them. Oh well. Overall, excellent album! I can't get enough of the songs on there.
The music makes the movie
To take a great movie that Wes Anderson wrote and directed and add amazing/creative music makes a conclusion that is very hard to find in most movies today. Also since David Bowie's music is such a large part of this movie there should be no reason why a true fan of rock wouldn't want to add this to their own collection. This cd is one of iTunes hidden gems.
